For gaur population in Khao Yai National Park, the population was approximately estimated about 100 – 130 gaur in the park and separately divided by the road for 2 large groups, around eastern and western sides of Prachinburi – Khao Yai Road, in the area of 2,168 km2 (Srikosamatara & Suteethorn, 1995).
Gaur population in Khao Yai were estimated about 100 – 130 around eastern and western sides of Prachinburi – Khao Yai Road. For eastern side, around Khao Fa Pha – Khao Inthani area was estimated about 50 gaur. At western side, around Sai Yai area and Samopun Valley also were estimated about 50 gaur (Srikosamatara & Suteethorn). For the other side, 30 gaur were reported around Khao Kamphaeng area and border edge of northeastern Khao Yai Natinal Park at Ban Wang Mi.
